This whole album is gorgeous. Ferran Savall sings in Catalan, Spanish and Hebrew. I really enjoy every single track on the disc, right from the opening Cançó del lladre; the guitar, combined with Savall's voice is sublime. His gorgeous, plaintive notes and the acoustic folk sound brought by the guitars create a blissful soundscape. The influence of other music apart from Catalan is also evident, some of his vocalisations on Noumi, Noumi remind me of classical Hidustani singing. Vocal and guitar harmonies on all the tracks also contribute to the beauty of the disc, I never get sick of hearing Savall singing in close harmony with himself, especially on La perla. The CD comes with a booklet with information and lyrics in Catalan, Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, plus Hebrew lyrics for Noumi, Noumi. I feel I will never tire of hearing the gorgeous sound created on this disc, and hope that Ferran will bring out another solo album at some point in the future!
