Hugo Díaz, the great master bandoneón player presents tangos full of vitality and passion. His brilliant virtuosity and musicality have earned him his place among the greats of Tango Argentino. On this album he is accompanied by Ciro Pérez (guitar) and Horacio Cabarcos (bass). These two musicians count among the best players of tango and contribute their abilities to this absolute collectors’ item.
"As one expects with ARC releases, the world class musicianship shines through on this new CD, from the very first track. We are whisked off to a traditional, Argentine world of haughty looks, sleek hair and barely supressed passion. Each note from Hugo Diaz was from the heart, but what is sop evident here is that this was no one man band, this was wonderful ensemble playing. After the first couple of plays, my favourite was one of his own pieces, Al Potrillo, (track 12), which I played on my programme. There are lots more wonderful pieces here for future programmes. Hugo Diaz many no longer be with us, but what a legacy he left." - A.B Lochbroom, FM
