With "Trios: Chapel", saxophonist Charles Lloyd, a unique figure on the international music scene for more than six decades and still in full possession of his creative powers at the age of 84, opens an unusual trio project comprising a total of three thematically related albums, each presenting him in a different trio line-up - a "Trio of Trios". He recorded the first album with guitarist Bill Frisell and bassist Thomas Morgan, followed later this year as a second trio record "Ocean" with guitarist Anthony Wilson and pianist Gerald Clayton, and finally "Sacred Thread" with guitarist Julian Lage and drummer Zakir Hussain.
