"What language does your soul sing in?" This is one of the central questions that UDU deals with. UDU brings together artists from two nations who creatively combine the musical heritage of Buryatia and Lithuania. The throat singing of Buryatia (Russian border region to Mongolia) is combined here with Baltic chants from pagan times, when man and nature were still one.
The Buryat singer Alexander Arkhincheev and the Buryat percussionist Konstantin Tokarsky and the two Lithuanian musicians Laurita Peleni and Tadas Desukas (also with Marga Muzika) got to know each other at The Spirit of Tengri festival in Almaty.
The mutual interest in each other's culture was the decisive factor in the creation of UDU. One of the most exciting folk collaborations of the current year!
