His new recording of Jean-Baptiste Lully's musical tragedy from March 2024, which premiered 348 years earlier in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, is the result of the latest historical, musicological and organological research. Alexis Kossenko and Benoit Dratwicki, the artistic director of the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles, scrupulously followed the instructions in the 1676 libretto regarding the arrangement of the orchestra, the number and distribution of the musicians and the timbres of the instruments, especially the wind instruments. The selection of soloists was based as far as possible on the characteristics of the singers who sang the work at its premiere, as far as their vocal and acting qualities are known. The result is a first-class vocal ensemble, including Mathias Vidal, Veronique Gens, Sandrine Piau, Tassis Christoyannis, Hasnaa Bennani, Eleonore Pancrazi, Adrien Fournaison, David Witczak... as well as the Pages and Chantres du CMBV (a group of children and adults) and Les Ambassadeurs - La Grande ecurie, all experts in this repertoire.
