Clint Mansell is an English musician, singer and composer. He was the lead singer of the alt-rock band Pop Will Eat Itself. After the band broke up, Mansell moved to the United States and began a career as a film composer. Mansell worked with American filmmaker Darren Aronofsky and composed the soundtracks for his films Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, The Wrestler, Black Swan and Noah. Mansell is best known for the soundtrack to Requiem for a Dream and was nominated for a Golden Globe for his work on The Fountain and a Grammy Award for his music for Black Swan. "Doom" (2005) is a science fiction film based on the iconic video game series and stars Karl Urban and Dwayne Johnson. The film centers on a group of Marines who are sent on a rescue mission to a facility on Mars, which quickly turns into a game of survival when the team encounters demonic creatures. This release marks the first vinyl release of Clint Mansell's score, pressed as a 2-LP gatefold set on Black Ice vinyl, with original artwork and a poster by illustrator Micha Huigen.
