The Beatles' Second Album is the third Beatles album released in the USA. It contains 11 songs, as Capitol Records began releasing only eleven songs on their Beatles compilation albums instead of twelve to save royalties. The album contains the remaining five songs from the British album With the Beatles, two songs from the EP Long Tall Sally (Long Tall Sally and I Call Your Name), the single She Loves You / I'll Get You and the two single B-sides: Thank You Girl and You Can't Do That. The album reached number 1 in the album charts in the USA and remained there for 5 weeks. It sold over 2 million copies in the USA. Using the original 1964 mono master, new lacquers were cut completely analog by Kevin Reeves at East Iris Studios in Nashville. By constantly referencing the original first pressing, the album stays true to the original release while allowing more musical information to be heard than was previously possible. Featuring faithfully recreated artwork and a new four-page insert with an essay by American Beatles historian Bruce Spizer.
