One must admit that the style of this composer differs so much from the others that one has to get used to it a little before one can feel it right. Charles Burney wrote 1773 about Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and even today this statement is still valid for the listeners. None of Bach's contemporaries can boast such a pronounced and eccentric personal style. But this is exactly what makes it so unique and so great, a musician has been addicted to for a long time
Ludger Remy. Thus his stirring interpretations of symphonies and harpsichord concertos, which appeared some time ago on cpo, were showered with praise and honour
With the orchestra Les Amis de Philippe, which he founded, he has now recorded a second series of harpsichord concertos by CPE Bach: Wq 3, 32, 44 and 45
Rarely has an interpretation done such justice to the stirring impetus of these works.
