The celebrated post-punks from Idles describe their new work "Tangk" as their love album. The word "love" is said to be used 29 times in the 40 minutes of music. But that doesn't mean that the Bristol band's fifth full-length album is a collection of sugary cuddly pop numbers. On the contrary, the eleven new songs still convey exactly the energy and anger for which Idles are known and loved. And the quintet around frontman Joe Talbot has always written veritable hits without any blinkers anyway. There is no other explanation for the band's phenomenal success since the release of their debut "Brutalism" just seven years ago. Even back then, Idles were invited to open for the Foo Fighters at London's O2 Arena. Since then, their success has been on a steep upward curve. Various awards and nominations, awards for "Album of the Year", a number 1 in their English homeland and most recently two Top 20 albums in Germany speak for themselves. Not to mention the thousands of ecstatic fans at the band's countless legendary shows. "Tangk" will continue this success story, that much can be predicted. The album was produced by Kenny Beats and guitarist Mark Bowen, who already produced the highly acclaimed predecessor "Crawler". They were also supported by Nigel Godrich, who is highly regarded for his work with Radiohead, Arcade Fire and Beck.
