Writing music for film and theater has always been a big part of HANIA RANI's musical world. The album is therefore a documentation of the creative process, which can often be out of reach for listeners, either the project does not materialize or the music is simply not available outside of the film or theater piece. From early collaborations with friends to last year's two film scores ("xAbo: Father Boniecki" directed by Aleksandra Potoczek and "I Never Cry" directed by Piotr Domalewski), HANIA RANI has been involved in many such projects, which represent an important step in her artistic development and life as a composer and artist: "Composing for film or theater is a very different kind of work for me than writing for my own projects. First, I have to work with someone who sees the world through the lens of their own art and craft. That's why these kinds of encounters can be so exciting - they're a chance to create something entirely new as a result of the creative work of so many people. Secondly, I feel that the music in the film is virtually an invisible figure, an additional emotion that creates a special atmosphere and sensation: it doesn't illustrate, it completes the artwork. I am very happy that many artists consider my music as the right soundtrack for their works, because film music has always been a great inspiration for each of my compositions. I also strongly believe in collaboration between people, I always feel that this is the way to create something really new, based on a mixture of different ways of thinking, feeling and expressing."
