What a Dream-Team: French percussionist Mino Cinelu - with roots in Martinique - and Norwegian trumpeter Nils Petter Molvaer met more often at festivals around the world and always planned to work together. Last year they turned their plans into reality Their joint album "SulaMediana" reflects the different experiences they have accumulated over the decades. Cinelu brought his influences from Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Sting or Kate Bush into the collaboration and Molvaer in turn brought his Norwegian roots into the mix, which has been constantly expanded in recent years with various collaborations such as with Moritz von Oswald or Sly & Robbie The result is a multi-layered and highly entertaining work that contains much more than "Sula" = the island where Molvaer grew up and "Madiana", which is another word for "Martinique".
