Ibrahim Maalouf comes from a family of academics and artists. He is the son of trumpeter Nassim Maalouf and pianist Nada Maalouf, nephew of writer Amin Maalouf and grandchild of Rushdi Maalouf, journalist, poet and musicologist. Ibrahim Maalouf is the only Trumpeter in the world who plays Arabic music with the "quarter-tone trumpet". This trumpet was invented by his father in the sixties. Maalouf is also a laureate of important competitions for classical trumpet. From Sting to Arthur H.. to Disiz la Peste, Amadou & Mariam and Vanessa Paradis, the trumpeter has also long been one of the most sought-after musicians to accompany greats like these - with an enormous stylistic range, both in the studio and on stage.
