Originally recorded in December 1988 and January 1989 over three sessions with Jack Endino at Reciprocal Recording Studios in Seattle, "Bleach" was released in June 1989 and has been at the top of Sub Pop's personal best list ever since without contradiction or surprise. The album got once again new thrust in the slipstream of the second NIRVANA power work "Nevermind" , which appeared in 1991.
This 20th anniversary edition of the original release has been carefully remastered under the supervision of Jack Endino at Sterling Sound. In addition to the original tracks, this version of "Bleach" includes a previously unreleased live recording from February 9, 1990 at Portland's Pine Street Theatre. Included are "Love Buzz," "About A Girl" and a cover version of the VASELINES song "Molly's Lips." These tracks were also remixed from the original tapes by Jack Endino.
