he debut of the SFJazz Collective, under the artistic direction of saxophonist and Nonesuch artist Joshua Redman, was one of the most eagerly anticipated jazz events of 2004. As part of the SFJazz Organization's spring concert series, Bay Area native Redman brought together seven other jazz masters from all over America to form a multi-generation super-group that the San Francisco Chronicle called "an exceptionally gifted and varied cast of musicians."
