Their perfectly harmonizing duo relies on strong contrasts and thrives on empathy and intensive exchange. - German radio Having already worked together on several recordings by Louis Sclavis for ECM, including the clarinettist's last album, entitled "Characters On A Wall", Sclavis and pianist Benjamin Moussay have increasingly concentrated on their duo communication in recent years and have played extensive and highly acclaimed concerts throughout Europe in this constellation. With a program that is two-thirds penned by the pianist and one-third by the clarinetist, the French duo creates a world of chamber music conversation in which lyrical contemplation and whimsical inventiveness alternate in a joyful, concentrated collaboration. The duo thoughtfully wraps delicate themes in warm improvisations, never rushing but patiently exploring the written material with rare creativity and in flowing dialogs.
