Life took an unexpected turn for London-based British-Brazilian student Liana Flores when her song "rises the moon", released in 2019, became a viral hit two years later and has been streamed over 500 million times worldwide to date. With a zoology degree from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland in her pocket, the 24-year-old has now decided to become a singer-songwriter and signed a contract with the legendary American Verve label. The talented songwriter with the delicately caressing voice is unmistakably influenced by British folk from the 60s, artists such as Nick Drake and Brazilian bossa nova. Her very own blend of these ingredients is also reminiscent of successful current contemporaries such as Laufey and Faye Webster. On the Verve label, which was home to jazz greats as well as folk and Brazilian legends such as Laura Nyro and Astrud Gilberto, Liana Flores is now presenting her debut album "Flower Of The Soul", which features astonishingly mature compositions and convincing personal lyrics.
