The debut album of Marc Almond and Dave Ball aka Soft Cell is truly an icon of electronic music. "Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret" not only introduced the world to the classic singles "Tainted Love" (one of the biggest global hits of all time), "Bedsitter" and "Say Hello Wave Goodbye", but shocked and thrilled in equal measure with a 10-track song cycle straight from the dirty, sleazy and dark side of life. "Sex Dwarf," "Frustration," "My Secret Life," "Seedy Films,"... four decades later, the album still has the power to thrill, shock and swoon. The final word - a 6CD super deluxe box set of 98 tracks. This ultimate version of the album tells its whole story. It includes many rarities that were previously deleted, as well as 40 previously unreleased tracks. CD1: 'Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret'. Disc 1 contains the album remastered by Barry Grint in 2023, plus all the associated 7" single versions of the A and B sides from that period, including 'Torch' and 'What!', the band's very first Phonogram single 'A Man Could Get Lost' / 'Memorabilia' (produced by Daniel Miller of Mute) and contemporary reworkings of 'Fun City' and 'Persuasion', which only appeared on 12" at the time. CD2: 'Non-Stop Extended Cabaret' contains the entire album in extended 12" form, consisting of Dave Ball's studio edits of the album created from the original studio parts only. These include contemporary full-length versions previously only available on the 2018 'Keychains & Snowstorms' box set and 2021's 'Tainted Love' anniversary vinyl 10", as well as new and unreleased 2023 extended versions of 'Seedy Films', 'Sex Dwarf' and 'Entertain Me'. Here's 'Bedsitter' in its original extended 12" version, as everyone involved agreed it just couldn't be improved upon! Also on CD2 are brand new, previously unreleased remixes of 'Memorabilia' by The Hacker and Daniel Miller, and a new extended version of 'A Man Could Get Lost' by Dave Ball. CD3: 'Non-Stop Eclectic Cabaret' is a treasure trove of rarities. As well as a new reworking of '2023 Tainted Love', there are BBC session highlights, selected remixes from 2005's 'Heat: The Remixes', including Richard X's legendary recording of 'Seedy Films', and a selection of demos, outtakes and audio files from BBC television and radio appearances on 'The Richard Skinner Show', 'The Old Grey Whistle Test', 'Top Of The Pops / Top Of The Pops 2' and 'The Oxford Road Show'. CD4: 'Non-Stop Instrumental Cabaret' presents the album for the first time in its full instrumental glory plus 6 original 'Non-Stop' demos, 5 of which are previously unreleased. Among these demos is the first version of 'Sex Dwarf', dug out of the archives at the last minute and recorded to tape. CD5: "Non-Stop Original Cabaret" brings together the original, iconic 12" single A and B sides from the Soft Cell era from 1981 to 1982, including "Memorabilia," "Tainted Love," "Say Hello Wave Goodbye," and the solo smashes "Torch" and "What!" CD6: Finally, "Non-Stop Intimate Cabaret" contains the complete album plus "Torch" and "Memorabilia," recorded live at Soft Cell's triumphant "Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret.... And Other Stories" shows in November 2021 at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith. Rounding out the disc - and the collection - are 'Insecure Me', 'What!' and 'Tainted Love' from London's O2 Arena, recorded in September 2018. The beautifully presented package also includes an in-depth essay on the history of the Adrian Thrills album, including new interviews with Marc and Dave.
