Julius Asal presents his first release on Deutsche Grammophon: "Scriabin - Scarlatti". The album unites the music of two composers who are rarely mentioned in the same breath - one a Russian, fascinated by mysticism and its artistic expression, the other a Neapolitan, famous for the liveliness and sophistication of his 555 piano sonatas. In his dreamlike interpretation, Julius Asal skillfully dissolves the boundaries between works, epochs and world views. He describes his artistic vision: "In a dream, anything is possible. Even seemingly disparate elements of different times and different densities can combine and form a substance that did not exist before." Through Asal's two improvisational transitions, the composers appear as travelers through the past, present and future. "Perhaps when listening, one senses the symmetry between the real and the imaginary and feels how the original compositions are brought together through the coupling and my two transitions via the imagination." The debut album provides a musical view of time, music and society in the context of change.
