Decca Classics presents a new album by Nicola Benedetti entitled "Baroque." This is the first album Benedetti has released with a period instrumentation. The Grammy Award-winning violinist is accompanied by the Benedetti Baroque Orchestra, a group of freelance baroque musicians making their debut in this formation. The repertoire includes a selection of concertos by Antonio Vivaldi as well as an arrangement of Arcangelo Corelli's "La Folia," probably the most famous and very demanding variations of the Baroque era, penned by Italian composer Francesco Geminiani Nicola Benedetti is one of the most sought-after violinists of her generation. Her ability to captivate audiences with her innate musicality and dynamic presence makes her one of the most influential artists of today.
