The two initial volumes of ’Play Bach’ on which French pianist Jacques Loussier, along with renowned bassist Pierre Michelot and drummer Christian Garros translated the magic of Johann Sebastian Bach’s compositions into the Jazz idiom, were an immediate success. “I don’t play Bach, I play alongside Bach”, Loussier once said. Such was the response to the albums that the pianist would repeat the formula many times over the years. Presented here are the complete early volumes that gained Loussier his much-deserved fame.
