His fiery guitar playing and soulful vocals make Ronnie Baker Brooks the torchbearer of the urban blues tradition. Now he is releasing his fourth album "Times Have Changed" on Provogue Records. As the son of blues great Lonnie Brooks, Ronnie witnessed the Chicago blues scene in its heyday at a young age. "I grew up with the best of the best," he recalls. "Every time I play, I remember the authenticity and passion I saw in the eyes of these guys like Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, B. B. King and my dad. But I also bring myself into it. None of them were repeating what came before them." In early 2013, Ronnie Baker Brooks took a huge creative step forward in his career when he decided to record his new album "Times Have Changed" at Royal Studios in Memphis. Together with producer Steve Jordan (Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, John Mayer, Robert Cray) he recorded songs with the famous Memphis Horns. Guests included musical friends such as Angie Stone, Al Kapone and Big Head Todd.
