To this day, the voices that want to hear in Emilie Mayer the same "female Beethoven" that the Prussian composer's contemporaries thought they heard in her works have not fallen silent. Of course, the label does not explain the artist's once significant successes: here was a classically informed, yet romantically inspired mind that managed to walk the tightrope between both worlds. The border crossings are not obvious; they are concealed, among other things, in the individual treatment of the large orchestra. This was a very special challenge for the orchestrator Andreas N. Tarkmann - when he reconstructed the lost score of the B minor Symphony from the piano reduction for this production. The result is a highly dramatic panorama that combines convincingly with the Symphony in E major, which is two years younger, to create a further voyage of discovery through the world of Emilie Mayer.
