Internationally acclaimed composer and producer Nils Frahm releases Old Friends New Friends, a new double album on his recently founded label LEITER. The album's 23 piano pieces were recorded between 2009 and 2021, but have not been released until now for various reasons. Neither an entirely new work nor a simple compilation of existing pieces, it reflects, according to Frahm, "an anatomy of all my ways of thinking and playing music." In doing so, he adds with a wink, "Maybe you could say it's an album I've been working on for over twelve years and now finally had enough material to release." The CDs are packaged in a cardboard slipcase and two individual cardboard slipcases.
