For Windows, all-rounder Jon Lord again teamed up with the conductor and composer Eberhard Schoener and no other than Tony Ashton, Deep Purple bandmates David Coverdale (Whitesnake, Deep Purple) and Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath), Pete York and Ray Fenwick (Ian Gillan Band) who united their talents to make Windows another milestone of Jon Lord’s career. Recorded live in 1974 in Munich, the performance consists of two main pieces. The first track, “Continuo on B.A.C.H.”, is a truly unique project. Based on a scale using the notes represented by his own name, Johann Sebastian Bach started working on a fugue, which he unfortunately couldn’t complete before his death. Now Lord’s and Schoener’s realization and interpretation of what Bach once started is being released completely remastered for vinyl.
