After the French success of "Tous Le Garcon Et Les Filles" in 1962 and "Le Premier Bonheur Du Jour" in 1963, 1964 was the year in which FRANCOISE HARDY began its international triumphal march. After performing at the Eurovision Song Contest and starring in a Roger Vadim film, 1964 was also the year in which DYLAN dedicated a poem to her in the sleeve of "Another Side" and in which she set off to England to record English songs for the first time. Their three French EPs of the year were recorded in France with Mickey Baker. FRANCOISE left French studios and producers behind and set off for London's Pye Studios. Until 1968 she didn't record again in France - in England she even resorted to the studio guitarist Jimmy Page. In England FRANCOISE worked with Charles Blackwell, a former protégé of Joe Meek, to reinterpret her cool, longing music: partly pop, partly chanson, partly soul.
