New edition for the 30th anniversary!
Available on vinyl for the first time since its original release in 1994 and now spread over 2 LPs for a better listening experience.
The double vinyl was cut by Frank Arkwright at Abbey Road Studios and supervised by Robin Proper-Sheppard from the band.
The God Machine were an alternative rock band formed in San Diego in 1990 and released two highly influential albums on Fiction Records in their short lifespan, "Scenes From The Second Storey" (1992) and "One Last Laugh In A Place of Dying" (1994).
Jim Chancellor, head of Fiction, writes: "The God Machine are one of the least known influencers of what is now known as post rock/metal." He cites praise from artists as diverse as Tool, Rage Against the Machine, Mogwai, Converge and many more.
Arun Starkey from Far Out - The Independent Voice of Culture hits the nail on the head when he says: "The God Machine sound like nothing that came before them. They sound like The God Machine, whatever that is, and the name couldn't have been more fitting."
Despite receiving rave reviews for their two breakthrough albums and live performances supporting Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The Cramps, The Fall, My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus and Mary Chain, the band suffered from falling between two stools for being "too indie for the American audience and too rock for the British audience".
