The Smile have announced their new album "Cutouts". Two new tracks, "Foreign Spies" and "Zero Sum", have been released at the same time, with artist Weirdcore also creating a video for the latter. Already released are "Don't Get Me Started" and "The Slip", two tracks that briefly appeared in record stores worldwide as a limited edition 12" single earlier this month. Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood and Tom Skinner played some of the songs from "Cutouts" for the first time on the March tour in the UK. In total, the Sam Petts-Davies-produced album, which follows January's "Wall of Eyes" and 2022 debut "A Light For Attracting Attention", contains ten new tracks. "Cutouts" was recorded at the same time as "Wall Of Eyes" in Oxford and Abbey Road Studios and features string arrangements by the London Contemporary Orchestra. The artwork by Stanley Donwood and Thom Yorke was created during the recording. "Cutouts" is the band's second studio album in less than a year. Its predecessor reached number 4 in the German album charts and number 3 in the UK. Thom Yorke also released the score to Daniele Luchetti's film "Confidenza" in April and announced a solo tour for New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and Japan. Jonny Greenwood is currently working on the score for Paul Thomas Anderson's upcoming film "The Battle of Baktan Cross". Tom Skinner has released the album "Voices of Bishara Live at mu" and is touring with his solo work at international jazz festivals.
